This Weeks Message- (scripture taken from King James Version) "When the Lord God Calls" And Moses answered
and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will
say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee. And
the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And
he said, a rod. And He said, Cast it on the
ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it
became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it. And
the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it
became a rod in his hand: That they may
believe that the LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the
God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee. And
the LORD said furthermore unto him, Put now thine hand into thy bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he
took it out, behold, his hand was leprous as snow. And
he said, Put thine hand into thy bosom again. And
he put his hand into his bosom again; and plucked it out of his bosom, and behold, it was
turned again as his other flesh. And it shall
come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first
sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.
And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these two signs,
neither hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour
it upon the dry land: and the water which thou takest out of the river shall become blood
upon the dray land. And Moses said unto the
LORD, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto
thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.
And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made mans mouth? Or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the blind? Have not I THE LORD? Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth,
and teach thee what thou shalt say. And he
said, O my Lord, send, I prey thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send. And the anger of the Lord was kindled against
Moses, and he said, is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee:
and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.
And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be
with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do. And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and
he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead
of God. And thou shalt take this rod in thine
hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs. (Ex 4:1-17) Here in the book of Exodus, is the story of the beloved Moses and
the work the Lord had called him into. Moses was a most humble man,
called by God to do that which in the natural appeared seemingly impossible,
but indeed by the power of Almighty God, led an entire Nation of people out from under the
bondage and slavery of Egypt as was commanded by the Lord, and into a land flowing with
milk and honey thus fulfilling the promise of the Lord for His people Israel. When Moses first received the call of the Lord confirming that he
had been chosen to lead the children of Israel, he reacted as many of us would
and have reacted to our own callings, that being with great hesitation and apprehension. Rather than immediately accept the words of the
Lord WITHOUT questioning, he instead began to give excuses as to why HE believed he was
not qualified for what God had called him to do. If we read through his many excuses, we will notice that he focused
more on his incapabilitys rather than Gods power to work through him, much
like many believers today. He begins first by
questioning his self-worth in saying: WHO AM I that I should go unto Pharaoh,
and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt? Already his focus was on how
inadequate he thought he was, and how great he believed Pharaoh to
be. Even after the Lord God assured him that
he would indeed be with him, Moses still sought for more excuses. What
if they ask your name? Who am I to say sent
me? They will not believe me nor my words and will say, The Lord have
not appeared unto you. On and
on Moses went, with a determination to somehow convince the Lord that hed chosen the
wrong vessel. Trying the Lords patience
with each excuse, Moses finally gives his last in saying: Lord, Im not eloquent, Im slow of
speech, and I have a slow tongue
And
even when the Lord promised Moses that he would be with his mouth and teach
him what he should say, he still pressed on in begging the Lord to send someone else. It would appear at this point the Lord had
had enough of Moses excuses as the word says the Lords anger was kindled
against Moses, thus he instructs Moses to speak the words HE gives him, to his brother
Aaron, and Aaron would then be the spokesman for the people. At anytime the Lord could have told Moses to
forget the whole thing, and could have instead chosen Aaron who was not afraid
to speak to the people and would have probably gone forward without hesitation or
question. However, Moses was THE LORDS
CHOICE. For God saw something in Moses that
even he could not see. All that Moses
considered to be inadequacies were PEFECT for the Lord to Glorify HIMSELF
through. God was not looking for
greatness, but for someone HE could be GREAT THROUGH. He was not looking for eloquent speech, but for
someone who would simply open his mouth and allow the speech of the Lord to flow through. He was not looking for perfection, but for someone
HE COULD PER-FECT! Thus, Moses was the
absolute PERFECT vessel to be used of the Lord to lead the children of Israel out of
Egypt. His humble heart was pleasing to the
Lord. His lack of desire to be seen of men,
and glorified by man was exactly what the Lord was looking for, as then ONLY GOD would
receive the Glory for the demonstrated miracles. Moses is like MANY today in the Body of Christ, for when The Lord God Calls we often, as
Moses did, give excuses as why we believe we are not fitting for the position. We begin instantly looking at ourselves, our
limitations, our inabilitys, and often with our speech try to convince the Lord that
HE whos ALL KNOWING, ALL SEEING, ALL
POWERFUL, THE GREAT I AM, has somehow made a mistake in choosing us. The moment he gives a vision as to what hes
called some to do, we begin to dissect it
weighing out the all the pros and cons, and because we are unable to
physically SEE the possibility in the natural, we instantly begin to view the
whole vision as IMPOSSIBLE, and some even begin to question whether the vision was from
the Lord at all. Perhaps it was my own wishful thinking (some
may say), how can I really be sure this is the
Lords call, this is HIS will for my life?
If ANY vision is way beyond your reach, where there is absolutely
NOTHING YOU CAN DO to bring it to pass, and the fulfillment of that vision would bring GOD
GLORY and NOT YOURSELF, then you can rest assure it is given by the Lord. If he thought you somehow could do it ALL on your
own, he would have not chosen you for the pride of such a one, would end in ruins. But, when the Lord God Calls, he will often give
the most impossible assignment, to the most ordinary, least likely person that through
such a one, HE and ONLY HE would be glorified. Thus, When The Lord God Calls, it would be wise to answer His call in total surrender, remembering that The Lord KNOWS the end to all things. You were called and ordained of the Lord while you were yet in your mothers womb. What may look impossible to you, IS POSSIBLE with Him for it will not be you, but HIM WORKING THROUGH YOU to bring that which hes birthed in you to pass and ALL for His Glory. Therefore, be not concerned with the hows, whys and what ifs for that which hes spoken to you, He will surely bring it to pass. Worry not as to who would believe and who would not, for those who have EARS to hear, WILL HEAR! Give no thought as to the when and where, but rather utilize the available time given in building up and feeding your spirit that when the time comes that he says GO, you will move forward with boldness and not look back. Remember to think not of your inabilitys, but rather focus on HIS ABILITY! When The Lord God Calls , ponder not, question not, but ANSWER QUICKLY ..YES LORD!!I love you all so very much. Have a blessed week in the Lord and remember: Whatever we do, do ALL for the GLORY of GOD, who ALONE is worthy of the GLORY and the PRAISE! May the peace of the Lord be with you today and always .
