Message- (scripture taken from King James Version)
The Passover
“And the
LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, This month shall be
unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you. Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel,
saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according
to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house: And if the household be too little for
the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of
the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb. Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the
first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats: And ye shall keep it
up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation
of Israel shall kill it in the evening. And
they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door
post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it. And
they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with
bitter herbs they shall eat it. Eat not of it
raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with
the purtenance thereof. And ye shall let
nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning
ye shall burn with fire. And thus shall ye eat
it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye
shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD’S Passover.
For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the
firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I
will execute judgment: I am the LORD. And the
blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood,
I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite
the land of Egypt.” (Ex 12:1-13)
NINE times Pharaoh,
king of Egypt was given warnings from the LORD through the mouth of Moses, that he must
repent of his evil and release the children of Israel from bondage that they may go and
worship The LORD in the wilderness. If he
should not heed to the warnings of the Lord, plagues would then follow. Nine times Pharaoh rejected the warnings and tested
the wrath of God, and the plagues came upon he, his household, and all the land of Egypt
but none touched the children of Israel. The first plague turned the waters of the rivers into
blood, but after the “magicians of Egypt” deceptively
did the same, Pharaoh would not surrender to the power of God. Thus the second
plague fell upon he and all the land of Egypt when frogs were dispersed all over the
land. Again, the “magicians of Egypt”
did the same, and Pharaoh’s heart remained hardened.
The third plague brought upon
lice, on man and beast but Pharaoh’s heart only hardened all the more. Afterwards, the fourth plague came upon them and flies covered
the land. The fifth plague brought disease to the livestock of Egypt
and the livestock died. Then came the sixth plagues and boils broke out in sores on man
and beast throughout all the land of Egypt, and still Pharaoh would not heed the warnings. The seventh
plague caused hail mingled with fire to strike the whole land of Egypt, and when the eighth plague struck locusts cover the land
destroying herbs, fruit, all vegetation so that none remained. Then the ninth
plague was delivered upon Egypt and the whole land was consumed by darkness. ONLY where the children of Israel dwelt, in the land
of Goshen was there light. Yet, through all
the warnings and plagues, Pharaoh’s heart still remained hardened and he refused to
let the children of Israel go. Hence, the tenth and final plague would be sent unto
Pharaoh, his household, and all the land of Egypt and it would be a most devastating one,
that would inevitably cause Pharaoh to finally send Moses, and the children of Israel
away. The tenth plague would bring upon death to every
FIRSTBORN in the land of Egypt.
Instructions were then
given to Moses and Aaron by the LORD as to what they should do that all firstborn of Israel
should not be touched by the final plague upon Egypt.
Every household was to take a MALE
LAMB of the first year WITHOUT BLEMISH, and sacrifice the Lamb
taking it’s BLOOD and striking
the upper door posts of their homes. Thus,
when the plague began at midnight the LORD declared that upon SEEING THE BLOOD “I will
pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.” Therefore, by the BLOOD of the LAMB, Israel and all their firstborn were SAVED both man and beast.
Today, the plague of
“death” still abounds only this death is ETERNAL
and is not limited to the firstborn of the land, but shall be upon ALL who ARE as Pharaoh
WAS, unrepentant; hard hearted and refusing to heed to the commandments and warnings of
the LORD. This eternal death will be brought
upon by man himself! For the LORD himself has
sent warning after warning, and yet many hearts have remained hardened. But, just as the LORD gave instructions to Moses
and Aaron as to the WAY of salvation, so he has given the same to every single person that
walks upon the face of the earth. The children
of Israel when given the instructions, had to provide for themselves a lamb without
blemish, firstborn male, of perfection EACH man of EVERY household, and the blood of such
would cause the LORD to overlook them, sparing them from death and destruction. But, NOW the LORD GOD HIMSELF has provided THE LAMB, not many but ONE as a Spiritual
Covering for as many as would receive Him. The
PERFECTED, The UNBLEMISHED, HIS FIRSTBORN, HIS VERY OWN SON, and the BLOOD of THIS LAMB would protect and cover
NOT just Israel, but ALL who would accept it upon the door of their hearts. Hence “The
Passover” would then apply to every believer who would repent, and receive THE BLOOD OF THE SACRIFICIAL LAMB OF GOD. For the LORD GOD said unto Moses “And the
blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: AND WHEN I SEE THE
BLOOD, I WILL PASS OVER YOU, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when
I smite the land of Egypt.” Thus,
The LORD GOD would say to as many as would receive the gift of The Lamb of God, Jesus
Christ our LORD, WHEN HE SEE THE BLOOD HE
WILL PASS OVER YOU! When He see your heart
which has been cleansed, it is not you He shall be viewing but HIS eyes shall be upon THAT
which caused the cleansing and that shall be THE
BLOOD of HIS LAMB who has provided for us the necessary covering and protection. The instructions were also given to Moses and
the children of Israel to REMAIN IN THE HOUSE UNDER THE COVERING OF THE BLOOD, and come
NOT outside the door. For once the door was
opened it would then allow the destroyer to enter in and strike! We to MUST REMAIN UNDER THE COVERING OF THE
BLOOD! For if we come out from under the
housing provided for us, that is HIS BLOOD, we’ve
opened the door and have given permission to the destroyer to come in and STRIKE! We MUST remain IN HIM, for if we step away from him
for but a moment, if we come from under the spiritual shelter provided for us, we then
become vulnerable and an easy open target! The
children of Israel were to remain INSIDE despite what would be going on OUTSIDE. They were under no circumstance allowed to even
peer outside of the door upon hearing any calamity or destruction, as the COVERING was
INSIDE. Once OUSIDE, there would then be NO
protection as the blood would no longer be visible. They
could not remain covered standing outside the door.
The SAME with those who BELIEVE this day. For if we come outside of the covering through
surrendering to the sinful nature of our flesh and REMAIN there carousing about, the BLOOD
is no longer visible, we are no longer covered and no longer protected. The BLOOD covers while we are UNDER it NOT away
from it! The LORD GOD cannot see THE BLOOD as
long as sin is blocking his view. The blood of
the lambs the children of Israel used, was viewed by God upon the door posts of their
“physical” homes. But, the BLOOD OF THE LAMB OF GOD is viewed by Him
not outside of the home, but FIRST on the INSIDE through a REPENTANT, SURRENDERED and
CLEANSED HEART. Guard your hearts, REMAIN in
HIM, experience “The Passover” made
possible by THE BLOOD!
