“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with TRUTH, and having on the breastplate of RIGHTEOUSNESS; and your feet shod with the preparation of the GOSPEL OF PEACE; Above all, taking the shield of FAITH, wherewith ye shall be able to quench the fiery darts of the wicked.  And take the helmet of SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is THE WORD OF GOD: PRAYING ALWAYS with all prayer and supplication IN THE SPIRIT, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the Gospel,  For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”   (Eph 6:10-20)

These are absolutely essential to every “Born Again Believer”, for without them, we cannot go into any battle and come out of it victorious.   This is our armor, and in the midst of tribulation we must “Stand With The Full Armor Of God”.   

Every professing believer will at some time in his/her life be tested, tried, and undergo many spiritual attacks from the enemy.  There will be times when the attacks will be so fierce where it appears there’s no end in sight, and one may become weary in feeling defeated in some way and be tempted to give up (as many have already experience and many are experiencing at present), and there will be times the attacks will not be so difficult but will appear to be “minor” annoyances.  However, no matter what level of intensity the trial may be, we will not be victorious in winning the battle, IF we leave the ARMOR OF GOD behind in an attempt to fight the battle with the flesh.  For we cannot fight that which is spiritually demonic, with the things of the flesh.  We need the armor to win, we need the armor to be victorious, we need the armor to “quench the fiery darts of the wicked.”  

A part of the armor is TRUTH, and we must WALK in TRUTH.  Notice here in the scriptures the word says: “Having your loins girt about with TRUTH”, therefore it is clear the word “Truth” in this passage of scriptures speaks of INTEGRITY for if it had meant anything other than,  the scriptures would have read “Having your loins girt about with THE TRUTH”, but instead it simply reads as “Truth”.  Thus, it is evident this is speaking of how we live our lives and how we relate one to another.  The word of God declares: “Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man TRUTH with his neighbour: for we are MEMBERS one of another.”  (Eph 5:25)   Therefore, we must make it a practice to live honest and truthful lives, that of integrity as did our Lord.  For one who lies cannot possibly stand against the father of ALL lies when being accused.  How can one who practice lying, battle against the one who spoke the very first lie and have continued in lying ever since?  We must strive to be truthful always in ALL things, speaking the truth in LOVE, having the character of Christ Jesus our Lord. 

As we gird ourselves with truth, we also then must put on the breastplate of RIGHTEOUSNESS.  Now, this righteousness here is not same as the scripture passage in 2^nd Cor 5:21, where it reads: “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God IN him.”  For this scripture refers to we being made righteous THROUGH the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF CHRIST because our sins were placed upon HIM where HE then paid the price with his life for them.  Therefore, when one comes to the Father in REPENTANCE, God no longer sees that individual’s sin because the sin has been covered by HIS blood, but sees the RIGHTEOUSNESS of CHRIST JESUS through the repentant heart of the believer!  The “righteousness” referred in Eph 6:14 speaks of the believers character and his/her deeds.  This is something we must practice, not something that is automatically given once an individual is “born again”.  This righteousness is a “way of life”.  It is one whose character is good, upright, morally correct, virtuous, one who choose to live righteously before God and man.  This is part of the Armor of God, and every believer must always have this breastplate of righteousness ON. 

The word then tells us that we are to “shod our feet with the preparation of the Gospel of Peace”.  There are two things we do with our feet.  We STAND, and we WALK.  When we come to the place where we cannot move further, where obstacles seem to be blocking the pathway, then we must STAND on that which we know to be the truth, remembering the things we’ve learned of the Holy Spirit when we first HEARD the Gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord, the Gospel of Peace which is our very foundation.  Our feet must always be prepared to simply STAND, but when we walk, wherever our feet would take us, we MUST always be prepared to now SHARE the Gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord with all whom we come in contact with as EVERYONE deserves an opportunity to HEAR as we have HEARD and BELIEVE as we have BELIEVED, the GOSPEL OF PEACE, the GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD.   When we stand on the Gospel and when we deliver the Gospel to others, it defeats the plans of the enemy. 

But, before we can stand and before we can deliver this Gospel, we must FIRST have the FAITH to believe. For how can one convince another of the TRUTH if he/she has difficulty believing themselves? The word of God says: ABOVE ALL take the shield of FAITH for WITHOUT FAITH it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God.  If we do not BELIEVE in that which we speak (regarding the scriptures) and that which we proclaim to stand on, then our speech and our standing is of NO effect, it is useless.  FAITH IS the substance of things hoped for, FAITH IS the evidence of things not seen.  We must believe that what is written in the scriptures is TRUTH, and that EVERY WORD that has been sent forth will NEVER return back to the Lord void.  We MUST put our FAITH and TRUST in the Lord for ALL THINGS without wavering, without doubt for the scriptures declare: “But let him ask in FAITH, NOTHING wavering.  For he that waverth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.  For let not that man think that he shall receive ANYTHING of the Lord.  A double minded man is UNSTABLE in ALL his ways.” (James 1:6-8)  And the Lord spoke these words in the book of Mark Chapter 11 vs 23-24 “For verily I say unto you, That WHOSOEVER shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; AND SHALL NOT DOUBT IN HIS HEART, but shall BELIEVE that those things which he saith shall come to pass, HE shall have WHATSOEVER he saith. Therefore I say unto you, WHAT THINGS SOEVER ye desire, WHEN YE PRAY, BELIEVE that ye RECEIVED them, and ye shall HAVE THEM”  

We must also take with us always when putting on the Armor of God, the Helmet of SALVATION remembering that salvation is a GIFT, and should be received as such with thanksgiving and a repentant heart.  Being reminded as well that because of this gift, because we received it by FAITH, because we received the giver of this gift, Jesus Christ our Lord, because we sincerely repented of our sins and have surrendered our hearts and lives to Him, we are now no longer alienated from the Father, but having now received the Spirit of adoption, we cry out ABBA FATHER, and are confident being now made sons and daughters THROUGH THE SON, the Father hears our cries and answers.   

Now, that we’ve girded ourselves with truth, and have put on the breastplate of righteousness, now that we have our feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of Peace and have the shield of faith and helmet of salvation, we now NEED the SWORD which is THE WORD OF GOD.  Every believer MUST carry the sword and MUST KNOW how to USE the sword.  For in the hour of battle, you cannot rely SOLEY upon family, friends, and the Body of Christ to use the sword for you as you will at times need to move quickly. YOU must know the operation of the sword yourself.  For what shall you do when the enemy attacks if you have no knowledge of the sword?  STUDY the sword and know how to quickly remove it from it’s sheath when need be.  Do not place it upon a shelf and forget it’s usage for you must be prepared at all times to plunge the sword into the lies of the wicked enemy and to severe the doubt and/or fear he may try to bring upon you in the midst of the battle.   For he will attempt to defeat you in any way possible that he can, BUT the Sword and your knowledge and faith in it will inevitably DEFEAT HIM AND HIS LIES….  KNOW the sword, BELIEVE on the sword and above all USE the sword.  For what good would it do you, if it remains in it’s sheath? 

And finally beloved brothers and sisters we must remember to KEEP PRAYING ALWAYS!   How often do we pray and how often do we pray for one another?  Prayer is ABSOLUTELY essential for the believer, and The bible says that we should pray ALWAYS for one another, not just when prayer is requested by someone, but ALWAYS in THE SPIRIT should we pray one for another.  We should also remember that prayer is not just a time to utilize in always SEEKING from the Lord, but is also a time to give THANKS to the Lord for ALL things.  Ask, but give thanks as well.  Daily, let us pray for one another giving praise and thanks to the Lord for the faith of our brethren who have withstood much persecution and continue to stand in refusal to bow the knee to any other God, except Jesus Christ our Lord.  Remember one another DAILY in prayer and forget not to give thanks to our Lord for All things.
