“My bowels, my bowels!  I am pained at my very heart; my heart maketh a noise in me; I cannot hold my peace, because thou has heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the ALARM of war.   Destruction upon destruction is cried; for the whole land is spoiled: suddenly are my tents spoiled, and my curtains in a moment.   How long shall I see the standard, and hear the sound of the trumpet?  For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are Scottish children, and they have none understanding:  they are wised to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.  I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.  I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.  I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.  I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger.  For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.  For this shall the earth mourn, and the heavens above be black: because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and will not repent, neither will I turn back from it.  The whole city shall flee for the noise of the horsemen and bowmen; they shall go into thickets, and climb up upon the rocks: every city shall be forsaken, and not a man dwell therein.  And when thou art spoiled, what wilt thou do?  Though thou clothest thyself with crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold,  though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou make thyself fair; thy lovers will despise thee, they will seek thy life.  For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, and the anguish as of her that bringeth forth her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, that bewaileth herself, that spreadeth her hands, saying, Woe is me now!  For my soul is wearied because of murderers.”  (Jer 4:19-31)

One can almost feel LITERALLY, the anguish and pain in the heart of Jeremiah the Prophet as he speaks the word of the Lord concerning the coming destruction upon Judah and Jerusalem, because of their sins and refusal to repent.  He appeared to be overwhelmed at the judgment that was about to be brought on Jerusalem by The Lord God, and he must have felt totally helpless as there was absolutely NOTHING that he or anyone could do.  Crying out would not change the course of the pending judgment, neither would intense prayer change the mind of The Lord as The word HAD BEEN spoken, and WOULD be fulfilled.  Jeremiah HEARD the Sound of the Trumpet, the “Sound of the Alarm” indicating JUDGMENT was coming and he was overwhelmed by grief for Jerusalem. 

Countless of warnings had went forth and the people chose to ignore.   Prophet after prophet had delivered the word to REPENT or suffer coming judgment and yet the people CHOSE to remain in sin.  Chose to provoke the Lord to anger, chose to serve man made gods and offer sacrifices to that which could not speak, nor hear, nor feel.  How long would the Lord have remained silent?  How long would he have seemingly ignored their sins?  I tell you the Lord was merciful, for he gave plenty of time and space to repent, but his mercy was refused. 

The SAME it is today for the Lord has sent forth HIS word through The Prophets TO “The Church”, to REPENT, to turn back from wickedness and sin, to reject the evils of this world and serve HIM, to RETURN back to your first Love and yet, just as the people of Israel ignored the words of the prophets, SO HAVE THE CHURCH!   Warning after warning after warning has gone forth to no avail as the prophets have been stone, mocked, rejected and shamefully mistreated.  Do you not fear The Lord?  Why do you CHOOSE to continue in the manner of provoking Him for many within the church have the foolish notion that because Christ died for our sins, they can continue living in sin for ALL will be forgiven as we are saved by grace.  They are under the impression that judgment is RESERVED FOR THE UNBELIEVER, and such will not fall upon those who have accepted Him.  Where have you learned such foolishness?   Who has been teaching these lies?  For do you not know The Word of God DECLARES that JUDGMENT shall begin at the house of God?   And understand when the word speaks of “house of God”, it is NOT speaking of a building, but of THE BODY! “For the time is come that judgment MUST begin at the house of God: and if it FIRST BEGIN AT US, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?  And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?” (1^st Pet 4:17-8)   Thus, the RIGHTEOUS judgment of God will not be poured out ONLY upon the ungodly, the unbeliever, but WILL BEGIN WITH THOSE WHO PROFESS TO BELIEVE!  It will start with YOU and I as NO flesh shall escape.  Therefore ask yourself, when the Lord judges you, will he find in YOU faithfulness?  Will he find in you righteousness?  Will he find within you a clean heart?  Will he find that you’ve been obedient to He and His Word?  Will he find that you’ve REJECTED the deeds of the flesh, and have followed after the SPIRIT?  The idea that one who professes to be a believer AFTER they’ve come to the knowledge of the truth, can live their lives as they so choose is absolute ludicrous!  If this is truth, where then does REPENTANCE fit in?  For to be forgiven of sins is not just a matter of confessing them day after day, only to return like a dog to it’s vomit to the SAME sin and devouring it over and over again!  It is a matter of having GODLY SORROW which leads to REPENTANCE, and to repent is to REJECT that sin forever more!  Anything less than this is NOT repentance but is a foolish attempt to take advantage of the GRACE of God!  Because of his mercy, because of his grace, because of his UNFAILING LOVE, because of his kindness, because of his goodness, MANY believe they can do whatever they desire and he will overlook it all….But oh…have you forgotten that among all these descriptions of The ALMIGHTY, there is but one other….HE is a COSUMING FIRE?  Who amongst you would tempt the flames of The Lord?   You say not I, but while you day after day REJECT his commandments and turn a deaf ear to His warnings, you are doing just that!   

Repent, and return back to The Lord!  For the Trumpet has blown, and the “Sound of the Alarm” has gone out to ALL who has the ears…to HEAR!  The coming of the Lord is sooner than was thought before!   The warnings has gone forth, but there shall come a time when the warnings shall cease, and judgment will take it’s place!   He stands with His arms open wide, calling forth to the Church, REPENT and RETURN TO ME , for only the days shall be shortened for the very elect!
