 PATIENCE AND PERSEVERANCE

“Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord.   Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.  Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.  Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.  Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering afflication, and of patience.  Behold, we count them happy which endure.  Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord : that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.” (James 5:7-11)

“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; knowing this, that the trying of your FAITH worketh PATIENCE.  But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” (James 1:2-4)

“Patience and Perseverance” are two of the most difficult things to embrace for one whose faith is being tested and tried through the fire. It is easier to speak the words, but much more difficult to live them and yet, in order to receive a victorious outcome of the trial, for a believer it is the ONLY option.  If we lose patience and perseverance we forfeit the blessing and are defeated in the battle and God is not glorified through our giving up.

NO trial is easy, but ALL are necessary for our spiritual growth.  If it were easy and we were able to seek a solution to the problem on our own, we would then have no need of our Father, and our Father’s desire is that we have TOTAL DEPENDENCY UPON HIM for ALL things!  No matter what it is we are seeking, or what decision there is to be made, God our Father desires that we depend on HIM!   From the simplicity of things to the most difficult for even in some of the most simple matters, we need godly wisdom to make the right decisions as we cannot see as far as the Father see.   He knows what awaits down the road as we cannot physically see that far and must walk that road seeing through the eyes of faith.   Thus, through our trials and tribulations, we LEARN many things and the first would be: TOTAL DEPENDENCY upon our Father.  Let’s face it, there are MANY situations, MANY desires of the heart that are absolutely impossible to bring to pass EXCEPT the Father do it!  If it were possible for man, we would have solved the problems a long time ago, but we are limited whereas the Father is LIMITELESS!  Think of your son or daughter, or any small child who would go to his father requesting some gift.  This little child knows that it is impossible he could purchase the gift he desires on his own for he has no money, and certainly unable to work, therefore he goes to the ONE whom he KNOWS has the ANSWER!  He goes to HIS FATHER, who has the ability to BRING IT TO PASS!  And, he goes in CONFIDENCE knowing that what he asks of his father, he will receive.  He is not self-sufficient, nor self-dependant, but SOLEY RELIES ON HIS FATHER OR MOTHER to solve whatever the problem may be.  Now, his father may not be able to produce instantly what the child requests, and the little one may have to wait a while.  BUT, his father would have given the child HIS word and having his father’s PROMISE is enough for the child to then exercise “patience” and although he may not be able to physically see it yet, HE BELIEVES THAT HE WILL RECEIVE!  The trust and dependency this child has towards his parents, is the SAME TRUST and DEPENDENCY OUR FATHER desires we have towards him.

“Patience and Perseverance” during tribulation also helps to strengthen our faith as during our most difficult trials it is not then the time to reflect upon the WHY, WHAT IF’S, HOW COME, etc. but it is the time to reflect upon THE WHO!  Who has the power to work it all out for our good.  WHO has the answer that would lift the burden.  WHO will supply all our needs.  WHO has healed our sick bodies.  WHO has redeemed us from the curse of the law!  WHO HAS GIVEN US ETERNAL LIFE!  This is the time we should shift our focus on the WHO, Jesus Christ our Lord and place our sole faith and confidence in Him.  If we spend precious time during our difficulties trying to understand the “why” we would just be wasting valuable time and would DELAY the answer!  Consider Job, who underwent horrific and tragic trials.  He reacted in the beginning as many of us would have, questioning the “why”.  Why did this happen; what have I done to deserve this; show me my sins that I may repent; why has this been allowed; etc. The suffering became so great that he even cursed the day he was born: “Why died I not from the womb? Why did I not give up the ghost when I came out of the belly?” (Job 3:11) And even some well meaning brothers and sisters may chime in adding more to the plate of sorrow as Job’s friends did saying: “You are suffering because there must be some hidden sin within you, ask God to reveal it to you and then repent, only those who are sinners suffer such trials, if you were righteous you would not be suffering so, etc”  All speaking from emotions and not by the Holy Spirit.  Out of despondency, despair, confusion and the like Job’s questioning of the “why” never produced answers from God the Father and realizing his error he then repented and shifted his focus away from the problem, and towards the SOLUTION.  “Then Job answered the Lord and said, I know that thou canst do everything, and that no thought can be withholden from thee.  Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge?  Therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.  Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.  I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.  Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.” (Job 42:1-6)   Job then received restoration of all that he’d lost, double fold because he then repented and put his complete faith and trust in the Lord.  He no longer saw his circumstance, but saw his answer!

Consider the woman who persevered for 12 long years seeking healing in her body for continual bleeding.  I’m sure that over the years she questioned why this was happening to her, and the bible says that she’d given ALL that she had monetary to the doctors and was NO better but rather grew worse.  There she was not only penniless but physically worse and yet she would not give up!  She held on, she clung to the HOPE that she would be healed of her infirmity and her patience and perseverance increased her faith and  literally brought her to the FEET of the ANSWER to her otherwise impossible situation.  With just ONE TOUCH of the tassel of his robe FAITH released the power of healing throughout her body.  She had 12 years to consider giving up, yet FAITH kept her holding on!

When the mind says “give up”, let FAITH answer “HOLD ON!”  When the mind says “this is impossible”, let FAITH answer “ALL things are possible to them that believe!”  When the mind says “this can’t be done”, let FAITH answer “I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me!”  When the mind says “I still feel pain in my body”, let FAITH answer “But he was wounded for my transgressions, He was bruised for my iniquities, the chastisement for my peace was upon Him, and BY HIS STRIPES I AM HEALED!”  When the mind says “I am afraid”, let FAITH answer “For He has not given me the spirit to fear, but of love, and of power and of a SOUND MIND”  When the mind says “I am confused”, let FAITH answer “You will keep ME in PERFECT PEACE, whose mind is stayed on you because I TRUST IN YOU.” When the mind says “how long must I wait, I’m tired and weary?”, let FAITH answer “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and NOT be weary, they shall walk and NOT faint.”

My dear brothers and sisters, whatever it is you are facing today have “Patience and Perseverance” and HOLD ON!  Don’t give up!   There is an answer to EVERY problem, and the answer is JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD!  He will not fail you IF you put your hope and trust in HIM!  Don’t give the enemy the victory, but SNATCH IT BACK AND CLAIM IT AS YOUR OWN!  The Lord has already paid the price.  Nothing is owed by you except YOUR FAITH!  Our faith will determine our limits of receiving.  We can believe a little and receive a little, OR we can believe for the IMPOSSIBLE and receive the impossible!   Remember the Lord said to many who sought a solution “if thou canst believe…..”  LET FAITH TAKE YOU TO THE FEET OF THE ANSWER!  TOUCH….THE TASSEL OF HIS ROBE, BY FAITH and have patience and perseverance, THE MANIFESTATION WILL COME!

“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed for I am your God.   I will strengthen you…”

"Pray for one another that ye may be healed”…..

I Love you all so very much.  Have a blessed week in the Lord and remember:  Whatever we do, do ALL for the GLORY of GOD, who ALONE is worthy of the GLORY and the PRAISE!

The Lord be with you this day and always!  Shalom Uvracha (Peace and Blessings)……..
