Timely Insights into God's Word from Khandielese Reyes

“I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.  But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.  As we said before, so say I know again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.  For do I now persuade men, or God?  Or do I seek to please men?  For if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.  But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.  For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.”   (Gal 1:6-12)

There is “Only One True Gospel”, ONE way to salvation, ONE way to obtain the gift of eternal life, that being through Jesus Christ our Lord.   

Here in the book of Galatians, the Apostle Paul addresses the church at Galatia for they had become driven away from the truth through the speech of false teachers, and into believing and practicing a doctrine that was not of truth.  These false teachers worked their way into the church at Galatia, and with trickery through distorting the scriptures, taught these new converted believers that salvation came by “keeping the law” and not through Faith in Jesus Christ our Lord.  It grieved Paul that so soon after hearing and receiving the TRUTH, they would then believe a lie.  These false teachers spoke that which was learned and taught by man unlike Paul who being a servant of the Lord God, preached that which was REVEALED to him by The HOLY SPIRIT who knows ALL things.  In sincere love for the church at Galatia, Paul writes admonishing them for foolishly believing that the “laws” and “ritualistic customs” could save them and once again reminds them of the truth that ONLY through repentance and FAITH in Jesus Christ our Lord can one be saved for there is Only One True Gospel, and anything preached other than, is A LIE. 

The same trouble that arose in the church of Galatia, is running rampant in the church TODAY.  For just as it was then, there are NOW false teachers who’ve perverted the truth and with eloquent and vain speech have caused the sheep to begin believing and even worse LIVING a lie.  For some have taught the grace ALONE of our Lord is sufficient for salvation leaving NO room for repentance.  That all sin past, present and future are forgiven, thus one can continue living in the manner he/she so desires for after all according to the scriptures: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Eph 2:8) (This is what some teach).   However, if one truly studied the scripture, they would understand this passage is not an open invitation to continue in sin simply because God is merciful and full of Grace.  If one believes such, he will DIE in his sins and will have NOT received the gift of salvation and eternal life WITH CHRIST.  This passage is only declaring that there is nothing man can do to EARN his salvation (for some believed that through good works they would earn their place in heaven), but that The Lord God through His Mercy and Grace for a world that deserved NEITHER, displayed such through His Son Jesus Christ, in sending Him to pay the penalty for our sins in his sacrifice upon the cross, that THROUGH HIM we might be reconciled back to the Father, through the shedding of His blood receive forgiveness of our sins, and the free gift of salvation THROUGH faith and trust in Him.  To teach that one need NOT repent of sin, is a brutal distortion of the TRUTH!   For such teachings label the cross as NULL and VOID!  Repentance of sin is of ABSOLUTE NECESSITY for the Lord Jesus HIMSELF said in the book of Mark chapter 2 verse 17: “I came not to call the righteous, but SINNERS TO REPENTANCE.”  And again in the book of Luke chapter 15 verse 7: “I say unto you, that likewise JOY shall be in heaven over ONE SINNER that REPENTETH, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.”  Paul writes in the book of Romans chapter 2 verse 4 “Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering: not knowing that THE GOODNESS OF GOD LEADETH THEE TO REPENTANCE” and yet again written in the book of 2^nd Peter chapter 3 verse 9 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that ANY should PERISH, but that ALL SHOULD COME TO REPENTANCE”  Thus, if it were of truth that there is no need to repent of sin, but one may live his or her life as he so well please, then what would be the need of the above scripture references regarding repentance (and many more in reference to such)?  It is clearly evident that repentance is absolutely necessary and EXPECTED!  Any one who speaks opposite of this, I BOLDLY proclaim that such a one speaks A LIE, and are leading MANY away from Lord and into the presence of the FATHER OF ALL LIES.  Such “teachers” are not called by the Lord God but speaks ONLY that which they believe the sheep desires to hear.  They seek NOT to please God, but man.  Such will be held accountable for EVERY sheep that wandered astray as a result of believing a lie!   

It is also being taught by some within the church, that one should give with the expectation of GETTING something back in return.  This sort of giving is not done out of Love and/or obedience, but out of a want to gain much in return.  Thus, such a one’s heart is not right with the Lord as their motives in giving are wrong. The word of God declares: “Every man according as he purposeth IN HIS HEART, so let him give, NOT grudgingly, or of NECESSITY: for GOD LOVETH A CHEERFUL GIVER” (2^nd Cor 9:7)  and again “Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.  Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men.  Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.  But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.” (Matt 6:1-4)  Where is the love in one giving with the sole purpose of receiving something back?  How does such giving honor and glorify God? People give for various reasons, some out of fear and intimidation, some out of necessity, some with the expectation of receiving back, ALL for the wrong reasons and such will wait for a great return from The Father, but will receive none.  Therefore, he who gives let him give out of LOVE, and he who receives let there be proper distribution that GOD may be GLORIFIED in ALL THINGS!   Even in our giving and in our receiving.   Let the church NOT be responsible in any way of giving cause to the world to speak evil of her, but let her openly display the works of The Father THROUGH LOVE, that all eyes may see, and through those works, HE would be GLORIFIED.

Cling to that which you’ve learned of the Holy Spirit and seek not the doctrine of man for there are many that have taught false doctrine among you, and have led many astray.  Be not one of them.   Stand firm in the TRUTH of which you know in your hearts, “For the time will come when they will not endure SOUND DOCTRINE; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn AWAY their ears from THE TRUTH, and shall be turned unto fables.” (2^nd Tim 4:3-4)  Such IS the time now….. Hold ON to the TRUTH, for there is “Only One True Gospel” let it not therefore be replaced with a lie!
