This Weeks Message- (scripture taken from King James Version) "NOT A TIME FOR SILENCE" And as they departed from Jericho, a great
multitude followed him. And, behold, two
blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, CRIED OUT,
saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David.
And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but THEY
CRIED THE MORE, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David. And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you? They said unto
him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened. So
Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received
sight, and they followed him. (Matt
20:29-34) Two blind men, sitting alone by the
wayside, desiring a miracle. The scriptures
tell us not how long these precious men had been blind, possibly since birth, however one
can guess theyd lived long enough in darkness that they were READY to see LIGHT!
So, here comes The Light,
their miracle is passing by as they hear a great multitude of people following a man name JESUS. For these two blind men, this man
represented THE MIRACLE! His NAME, His
PRESENCE, represented HOPE! JESUS, was their
way out of darkness! HE was the deliverer of
LIGHT! Therefore, this was NOT A TIME FOR SILENCE.! This was not a time to sit back and hope they
would be noticed through the crowd. This was
not a time to quietly mumble a please help me Jesus, under their breath hoping
he would hear. This was not a time to sit and feel sorry for themselves because of their
dilemma. THIS WAS A TIME TO BE NOTICED, A TIME TO
SHOUT! THIS WAS A TIME TO BE HEARD! THIS WAS THE TIME TO RECEIVE! Not concerned by
the voices of others shouting from the crowd or whether or not they would be heard above
the multitude, the blind men began to cry out Have
mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David. They
hadnt got his attention yet and the crowd urges them to be quiet. Stop shouting, they must have told them, be
quiet, wait your turn, Jesus has more important things to do, dont bother him now. Courage and boldness built up in them, faith
increased all the more, for when they believed their miracle was approaching they were not
about to forfeit their chance to receive. For
these two men, this was NOT A TIME FOR
SILENCE, for if they remained quiet, they may lose their opportunity to be
healed. Ignoring the crowds instructions for
them to be silent, they instead did the opposite, they CRIED OUT MORE: Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou
son of David. NOW they have
his attention. Their cries went beyond the
voices of the multitude and reached the Masters ears.
A cry for deliverance, a plea for help, a shout of faith and he stops and
calls the blind men to him. Having mercy and
compassion on them, Jesus grants them their request, touched their eyes and they
immediately received their sight. What would have happened if these two
blind men had become intimated by the crowd and kept silent? Obviously, they would have missed their
opportunity to receive a blessing from the Lord. Often, believers miss the opportunity
to be blessed of the Lord by listening to the speech of the crowd. Just when you are moments away from receiving your
miracle, your breakthrough, when the answer is at the very door, you are urged by the
multitude, by a friend, by a well meaning brother or sister, to be SILENT! Just when you sense the miracle approaching,
you cease from crying out all the more! Negative speech may reach your ears where someone
may say: "if the Lord hasnt answered your prayers by now, maybe hes
trying to tell you that its not in his
will or perhaps youve listened to
the enemys voice which says: Your request is so irrelevant, Jesus has more
import requests to deal with, youve cried out and prayed and he hasnt answered
you yet, just give up! But oh, my
beloved brothers and sisters, If you listen, and become intimidated to silence, YOUR
miracle might just pass you by. How MUCH do
you desire THE LIGHT? NOW IS NOT A TIME FOR SILENCE! The Lord himself says: Ask, and it shall be
given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one
that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be
opened (Matt 7:7-8) This is the time to do as the blind men did, IGNORE THE VOICE OF THE ADVERSARY, CLOSE YOUR EARS TO
THE VOICE OF NEGATIVE SPEECH, AND CRY OUT TO THE LORD WHO HEARS, AND ANSWERS! This is Not a time for Silence, BUT a TIME TO BE
HEARD!! Cry out to the Lord! Let him hear your voice above the crowd! Evening,
and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry ALOUD: and HE SHALL HEAR MY VOICE. (Ps 55:17) for
HE forgetteth NOT the cry of the Humble (Ps 9:12) As the psalmist writes: O Lord My God, I CRIED unto thee, and thou hast healed me (Ps 30:2) and again I called upon the Lord in distress: The Lord ANSWERED me, and set me in a large place (Ps 118:5) and still: I waited PATIENTLY for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and HEARD MY CRY (Ps 40:1) and again he says: I CRIED unto God with MY VOICE, even unto God with my voice; and HE gave ear unto me (Ps 77:1) Let us remember: The righteous cry, and the LORD HEARETH, and DELIVERTH THEM OUT OF ALL THEIR TROUBLES (Ps 34:17)I love you all so very much. Have a blessed week in the Lord and remember: Whatever we do, do ALL for the GLORY of GOD, who ALONE is worthy of the GLORY and the PRAISE! May the peace of the Lord be with you today and always .
