Timely Insights into God's Word from Khandielese Reyes | |
This Weeks Message- (scripture taken from King James Version) HUMBLE YOURSELF IN HIS
PRESENCE Put not forth thyself in the presence of the king, and stand not in the place of great men: For better it is that it be said unto thee, come up hither; Than that thou shouldest be put lower in the presence of the prince whom thine eyes have seen. (Pro 25:6-7) And
he put forth a parable to those which were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the
chief rooms; saying unto them, When thou are bidden of any man to
a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honorable an than thou be bidden
of him; And he that bade thee and him come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou
begin with shame to take the lowest room. But
when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee to
cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the
presence of them that sit at meat with thee. For
whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be
exalted. (Luke 14:8-11) To
receive the title of Greatness
one must first accept the title of Humbleness,
for it is through humbleness that TRUE greatness is obtained. No man/woman can become great in the eyes of the
Lord without first exercising humility. The
Lord taught much in scripture on the importance of remaining humble and he himself through
example was the very essence of humility AND greatness.
There is MUCH that can be learned simply by observing the ways of the
Master. For here IS THE KING, the creator of
heaven and earth and ALL that is within; The Spirit of the living God in the form of human
flesh; having ALL power; ALL authority; ALL might and yet did not DEMAND anyone should
acknowledge Him as such. But rather he presented himself to man in such a way that it
caused the heart of man to open, and the spirit of man to clearly see and receive Him for
who he indeed was and IS, Yshua The promised one, The Son of God for as many as
would believe. He did not seek the praise of
man (as many do), and even upon restoring the health of the sick, or bringing deliverance
to the tormented, He didnt wait around for applause or acknowledgement but simply
went on His way and instructed the healed one to do the same. When false accusations rose up against Him, He did
not raise His voice in defense, but rather remained silent.
He could have very well turned to His accusers and declared unto them: Do you know who you are talking to, do you realize I
can destroy you with A WORD? I am the King of
all kings and Lord of all Lords, acknowledge ME! Yet,
He uttered NOT a word in defense of himself but rather allowed their false accusations to
be laid upon Him. Yes INDEED, there is MUCH to
learn about true GREATNESS from The Master of Greatness Himself who walked in superb
humility! In the above parable taken from the book of Luke 14th chapter as presented to us by The Lord, it is a lesson to learn on how one should conduct himself in the presence of THE HOST. Here it tells the story of one invited as a guest to a wedding feast. Instantly upon arrival, the desire of mans heart is to be seen, thus he seeks the nearest available seat next to the MAN OF HONOR that he, having seated next to him may himself appear as being one of great importance. The Lord however is instructing in this parable, that one should not seek the BEST seat in the house, but rather the least appealing. Desiring to be acknowledged and seen of men, may cause you to learn HUMILITY through embarrassment. For while you desire the best seat in the house next to the guest of HONOR, one of greater importance to the Host than you may enter in and upon seeing him, the Host then would command you to depart from the seat and give it to the man HE considers of importance. Thus in shame and embarrassment, you rise and leave having been taught humility the difficult way. But, if you take the least desirable seat, a seat perhaps further back in the midst of the crowd, the Host may then bid you to come forth and sit next to Him in the higher place of honor. For now you who appeared to be hidden amongst the crowd when you took the low seat, is now because of the humbleness of your heart, made visible to the Man of HONOR. The intentions of your heart has been made clear as youve now sought TO HONOR and not to be honored. As
parts and members of the Body of Christ, we MUST learn to Humble Ourselves in HIS presence and
in the presence of one another as there is NO part of the Body BESIDES the HEAD that is
greater nor more valuable than any of its members.
For there are too many that seek to be HONORED rather than give honor; who
seek the best seat in the house rather than accept the least; who desire and LOVE the
praise and acknowledgement of man, rather than demand from man the praise and honor be
given to The Lord God; who exercise using spiritual gifts as if the power comes from them
alone, rather than give the GLORY to GOD. There
are NO celebrities within the body and yet many have made themselves as such by falling
prey to and receiving with gladness notoriety, fame and yes great fortune. In fact for many as such to not receive open
acknowledgement, causes offense to rise up within themselves. If they are not acknowledge by MAN for their name,
accomplishments, contributions, position, sermons, etc. INSTANTLY they become offended. These are such who LOVE and SEEK to be exalted by
man, but despise and run from humility, but without humility there is NO exaltation. Humble Yourself in HIS presence! HE is the MASTER, HE is the KING, HE is the one
with the GREAT NAME for His name has been given ABOVE ALL names. If you truly desire to be someone Great,
LEARN FIRST TO SERVE. Humble yourself
and let HIM, NOT MAN be the one to exalt you! I
Love you all so very much. Have a blessed week
in the Lord and remember: Whatever we do, do ALL
for the GLORY of GOD, who ALONE is worthy of the GLORY and the PRAISE! The Lord be
with you this day and always! Shalom Uvracha
(Peace and Blessings) Kadosh, Kadosh, Kadosh,
